If you are not yet 14 years old (reference date 1 January) you can fish for free in many waters of Amsterdam.
To do this, you will need a free youth permit with the corresponding list of waters.

- You can fish with 1 rod
- You are only allowed to fish with bread, maggots, worms, dough or corn.
- The fish caught must be returned to the same water undamaged
- It is forbidden to leave fishing line and other waste behind
- Please note: additional rules of conduct apply to some waters. These are listed in the fishing water list.
